Operated by the Eagle River Historical Society, the museum is located in a former railroad depot building that was constructed in 1923.

The Eagle River Golf Course is an 18 hole public golf course that has received a four star rating from Golf Digest. The course has a driving range with target flags and a nice practice putting green with bunker. The course has 54 golf carts to accommodate customers. The pro shop carries men’s and women’s apparel and golf equipment for all skill levels. Competitive rates and excellent customer service will provide an enjoyable golfing experience.

The Historical Museum building is the largest artifact in the collection of the Eagle River Historical Society. It began life as the recreation hall of Camp Tecumsah for Boys on Catfish Lake in the 1940’s. After the camp closed, the property was purchased by local businessmen Harry Pride and Francis Sailer for private development. They moved many of the buildings off site to preserve them.

The museum building was moved to its current site in 1969 and for many years was the social hall for the Knights of Columbus. The Knights sold the property to the Historical Society in 2012. After 18 months of renovation it opened in May, 2014.

The River Road Equestrian Campground is an equestrian’s perfect retreat. Connectivity with three horseback riding trails makes this campground an excellent hub for exploring Vilas County. Enjoy a relaxing night of camping before heading out for a day of tranquil riding through the area’s winding paths and lush forests. Then at the end of the day, refresh and recharge at this unique campground that accommodates your equestrian friend. You’ll feel right at home.

River Road is the only campground of its kind in Vilas County. It’s located at the trailhead of the Torch Lake equestrian loop, which provides access to over 19 miles of well-marked trails. The loop includes the Torch Lake Trails, Ski Hill Trails and the Pioneer Creek Trail. You can ride to Conover and find dining spots that have hitching posts outside.

Camping is limited to 10 consecutive days. Sites are $15 per night. Reservations can be made online with a one-time reservation fee per stay of $10. There are nine sites, and six highlines for your equine friends.

Unplug and escape to the beautifully rustic Tamarack Springs Campground. Tamarack Creek anchors this picturesque campground, winding throughout the area and providing a tranquil soundtrack to your camping getaway. Fall asleep to the sound of the bubbling creek, and in the morning, grab your gear and fish the class 1 and class 2 trout stream.

The campground accommodates tents and small trailers, featuring a campground host and nine sites spread along both sides of the creek – six on the north side and three on the south side. It is open May-October (weather permitting), at a cost of $15/site/night. Reservations can be made online with a one-time reservation fee per stay of $10. Find the campground northwest of Conover, off Hwy 45 along Tamarack Creek.

Torch Lake Campground and RV Park has 41 campsites (sized with extra space for large rigs), with 21 of these campsites offering full hook up (water, septic, electric, and wi-fi).  Sites are $40-$47 per night, with a one-time $10 reservation fee per stay. Reservations can be made online or day-of on-site (for any campsite without a posted reservation on the site marker).

We are located just outside of Boulder Junction, WI, on High Lake! We offer rental of our property. The house is a 2 bedroom / 3 full bath with 3 additional leather futons and laundry accommodations. The master bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has 2 queen beds. The Guest Cabin is a 2 bedroom / 1 full bath plus a futon. There are 3 full size beds among the two bedrooms. We also do rental of our Ranger Pontoon boat, Lund Fishing boat, snowmobiles, & ATV’s.

The Headquarters, aka “HQ,” showcases many snowmobile groups that have been or are instrumental in the development and operation of the sport of snowmobiling.

Our goal is to publicly showcase both the people and the machines that have taken the sport from its infancy to the present day. We always enjoy hearing from snowmobilers from all around the world and have many visitors stopping by the museum to share memories, exchange snowmobiling stories and capture some unique photos while here.
