Up for an off-road adventure in the Northwoods of Wisconsin? Bring your dirt bike or dual-sport motorcycle to Conover in eastern Vilas County to enjoy off-highway motorcycling (OHM) at the Tamaracks OHM Trail.

The trail system, which sits west of U.S. Highway 45 on Tamarack Road, opened in 2018 and offers 14 miles of two-way trail riding that passes through beautiful Vilas County scenery. The Tamaracks OHM Trail is open from May to October, and the main parking lot now includes a loading ramp for your vehicle.

There is direct access to the Tamarack Springs Campground, consisting of nine primitive campsites. Find more information on the campground and make reservations here.

Note that a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources OHM permit is required to ride on the Tamaracks OHM Trail. Learn more about Wisconsin’s OHM regulations here or purchase a permit here.
