Want to experience the small-town Northwoods charm of Vilas County’s towns and cities this summer? Head to northern Wisconsin over the Fourth of July, and you’ll find parades, firework shows, and community celebrations all across Vilas County.
Here’s a look at this year’s schedule.
June 29
- St. Germain Independence Day Celebration: The fun starts with the Freedom 5K Run and continues with a craft & vendor fair, kids’ games, live entertainment, a parade, and fireworks at dusk
July 3
- Land O’ Lakes Fireworks Celebration: Don’t miss the largest fireworks show in the Northwoods, as well as a concert, food vendors, and a beer garden at the Land O’ Lakes Airport
July 4
- Manitowish Waters Independence Day Celebration: Enjoy a parade, family-friendly activities, a performance from the Skiing Skeeters water ski show, and fireworks
- Lac du Flambeau 4th of July Celebration: Lac du Flambeau’s festivities include a kiddie parade and full parade, food & drink vendors, a pow wow, and fireworks at dusk
- Eagle River 4th of July Celebration: Join the fun in Eagle River with a parade featuring more than 60 entrants and a downtown street party featuring family games, music, food, and a beer garden
- Star Spangled Jubilee, Boulder Junction: Boulder Junction’s annual celebration features a parade at noon, kids’ activities at the Acorn Lodge, and a fireworks display at the Boulder Junction Airport
- Land O’ Lakes Independence Day Parade & Party in the Park: Don’t miss Land O’ Lakes’ charming parade and kids’ games, food, drinks and live entertainment at Pavilion Park
- 4th of July Celebration in Sayner: The Sayner-Star Lake Lions Club sponsors the community parade on State Highway 155 and fun in Sayner Town Park, as well as a fireworks display at the Plum Lake Library at dusk
- Conover 4th of July Parade, Picnic in the Park & Water Ski Show: Head to Conover for a parade on County Highway K, a picnic in the park, and a water ski show on Lake Pleasant
- Phelps 4th on the Lake: The fun comes to downtown Phelps on the Fourth of July, including a street parade, a boat parade, live music, raffles, and a fireworks show
