Trail & road closures announced in Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest

The USDA Forest Service has announced the closure of seasonal trails and roads in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest to motorized vehicle, equestrian, and bicycle usage now through May 1.

Trails in the national forest are closed annually each spring to ensure public safety and reduce trail damage when the ground is saturated. Protecting trails for ATV/UTV, equestrian, and bicycle usage by closing them now minimizes the need for closures in the summer to repair damaged trail segments.

The trail closures apply to the trails and roads identified on the forest’s Motor Vehicle Use Maps, which can be found here.
