Scenic Ride: North-Central Route
Ride through the vast wildernesses of northern Vilas County on this 68-mile route that passes through Conover, Land O’ Lakes, Boulder Junction, and Sayner-Star-Lake Cloverland. As you travel through Boulder Junction, Sayner, Star Lake, Cloverland, and Conover in the central part of the county, enjoy the view along the shores of more than 10 lakes, including White Sand Lake, Black Oak Lake (often called the clearest lake in Wisconsin), and Big Lake. This route also includes Vilas County’s only Rustic Road, Rustic Road 60, a 12-mile stretch of County Highway K that passes through a scenic section of the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest and connects Boulder Junction to the Sayner-Star Lake-Cloverland area.
