A Scenic Trip North to the Wisconsin Border

This nice drive will take you to the border of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula before winding back to Manitowish Waters. To start, take U.S. Highway 51 north to County Highway W. Turn right on W and travel through downtown Manitowish Waters into Winchester to County Highway O. Turn left on O and travel to County Highway G. Turn left on G and travel to County Highway H (which takes you to Mercer) and then to County Highway J. Turn left on J and travel about 5 miles to County Highway W. Turn right on W to head back to downtown Manitowish Waters and U.S. Highway 51. For a different trip back, turn right on J and take J to U.S. 51; take a left onto 51 and travel about 10 miles back to Manitowish Waters.
