Couple hiking through the fall woods of Fern Ridge Trail in Vilas County, Wisconsin

Fern Ridge Trail

Includes 1.4 miles of hike/snowshoe trails and 4 miles of single-track mountain bike/winter fat-bike trails.  The two hike/snowshoe loops are at a somewhat rugged, intermediate level offering striking contrasts in terrain and a bog boardwalk.  Special attention is given to the many wildflowers, trees and non-flowering plants that make the trail beautiful during all seasons, including late season mushrooms. The mountain bike loops are one-way single-track flow trails that any skill can manage. Every feature has an alternate option for those that are less adventurous. Picnic tables available at the trailhead so pack a lunch and enjoy!
