Off-Highway Motorcycling on The Tamaracks OHM Trail

Looking for a place to ride your dirt bike or dual-sport motorcycle in the Northwoods of Wisconsin? You’ll find a couple of fun options in Vilas County.

The Tamaracks OHM trail system in Conover is a single-track trail system that offers 22 miles of trails for riders of different experience levels. Beginners can ride the Green Loop, and the Blue Loop steps up the challenge with more features and a tighter trail tread. The Black Loop is designed for experienced riders and features plenty of rocks, logs features, and other challenges.

The main Park and Ride trailhead now features a loading ramp and an open-air pavilion. The trail is adjacent to Tamarack Springs Campground. The campground also accepts online reservations.

This single-track trail system is for both limited use (dirt bikes) and Dual Sport motorcycles. To ride on this trail system a Wisconsin DNR OHM Permit is required. Visit the DNR’s website for more information.

Boulder Junction is also home to some dual sports paths in the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest. Learn more here.
