The Vilas County snowmobile trail system, including all state-funded and club-funded trails and routes, will temporarily close at 8am Tuesday, March 10.
The recent stretch of warm weather has taken its toll on the trails, with bare ground and pavement showing in many areas. When and if conditions become safe again, the trails could potentially reopen.
The Vilas County Snowmobile Ordinance prohibits snowmobiles from operating on the trail system when closed.
