Bridge over a river of Conover-Phelps Trail in Vilas County, Wisconsin

Conover-Phelps Trail

This newly completed trail connects its two namesake communities along the former Chicago Northwestern railroad bed with 10.2 miles of aggregate (railroad bed portion) and asphalt (last mile heading into the Phelps trailhead). The trail is ideal for biking and hiking with views of woodlands and wetlands and three water crossings along the way. The western trailhead is the Conover Town Park and the eastern trailhead is located in the Lakefront Pines Park in Phelps.
